Santo Domingo.- The driver of a Honda Pilot SUV, gold in color and license plate G287324, who used sirens and emergency lights to travel through the Las Américas tunnel in the middle of heavy traffic, clarified that he was a firefighter attending an emergency situation.
Adonis Cerda explained that he belongs to a rescue brigade and that at that moment he was responding to the call of a fire recorded in the Garrido store, where a firefighter was also reported injured during the incident. According to him, the use of audible and luminous signals was intended to quickly make way for the seriousness of the event. The passage of the vehicle generated confusion among drivers, as the unit did not display visible logos or insignias of a state institution, which led to questions on social networks about the use of flashing lights and sirens by private vehicles. You may be interested in: 100 firefighters working to put out fire in Garrido Stores warehouse
