Four people are seized and arrested in operations against drug trafficking in Santiago

Santo Domingo.- Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry, carried out several raids and operations in the municipalities of Navarrete and Santiago, in the province of the latter name, in which they arrested four people and seized narcotics. In joint efforts, which are framed within the new strategies, the authorities carried out a raid on a residence, located on 5th street, in the Reparto Perelló sector, in Santiago, where Edwin Miguel Belliard was arrested, the DNCD said in a note.

During the intervention, 39 glass containers filled with marijuana were seized, weighing approximately 1,555 grams, along with four scales, a computer, and cash, among other evidence. The Public Ministry and the DNCD simultaneously carried out other operations in the municipality of Navarrete, where they arrested three men and seized 625 grams of cocaine, 100 grams of marijuana, as well as 35 grams of crack. The interventions were carried out in the neighborhoods of La Estancia del Yaque in Navarrete, as well as in the neighborhoods of Villa Tabaquera and La Breña, in the municipality of Villa González, where the Haitian Manno Frenino and/or Jose Pierre and the Dominicans William Almonte and Rafael García were arrested. In these operations, a communication radio, 3 packs of plastic bags, a scale, and cash were used. The detainees and the evidence are under the control of the Public Ministry of Santiago for the corresponding purposes.
