Santo Domingo.- Doctor Guerrero Heredia launched a public denunciation filled with indignation on his program El Recetario, where he lashed out against the Ministry of Public Health, Dominican entrepreneurs, and the political class, for what he considers a systematic marginalization of scientific dissemination spaces.
Guerrero strongly questioned the lack of advertising support for the program, despite assuring that El Recetario is the most-watched science and health program in the Dominican Republic and in Central Caribbean countries.
Visibly annoyed, Heredia stated that the exclusion is not accidental: “So, what is it? It’s the hatred that the State and the entrepreneurs have for science.” He also referred directly to the Minister of Health, Víctor Atallah, pointing out that, despite being a friend, he has never supported the space, unlike other media without scientific orientation:
“Mal agradecido… pero hay que ver lo que son los amigos, eh. Parece que Víctor Atallah tenía demasiado compromiso político y le pone los jodidos anuncios del dengue a programas políticos, y a nosotros”,
Doctor Heredia recalled that El Recetario is sustained “by a thread” and thanks to the support of Santiago Matías, CEO of Alofoke Media Group, whom he recognized as the only figure who has bet on a scientific space in the media:
“Science has to be subsidized. This program is subsidized by Santiago Matías. It’s true. Pay attention to relajo, the program subsidized by Santiago Matías on YouTube, in science, is number one.”
Heredia emphasized that El Recetario not only leads the local audience, but also competes in the top positions in some Central American countries. Even so, he assures that the program continues to be ignored by those who should promote and support scientific education.
