Hooded men shoot at a man as he leaves the Santo Domingo Este Courthouse

Santo Domingo.– A man was shot on Tuesday afternoon after being attacked by several hooded individuals as he was leaving the Palace of Justice of Santo Domingo Este. The National Police reported that it immediately assumed the investigations to clarify the event. The victim, whose identity had not been revealed at the time this edition went to press, was assisted and transferred to a medical center, where they remain receiving care, according to police spokesman Diego Pesqueira.

The attack occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m., in the vicinity of the aforementioned court. Authorities have not offered details about the possible motivations for the attack. According to Pesqueira, the agents are working on gathering evidence and conducting interviews to determine the identity of the aggressors and the circumstances of the event. In social media, a video circulates showing the injured man lying on the pavement while citizens try to assist him, images that have generated concern about the level of violence shown in the scene. The authorities urged the population to collaborate with any information that may contribute to the progress of the case.
