Santo Domingo.– A court in San Francisco de Macorís imposed three months of preventive detention on bailiff Antonio Yhosue Morel Artiles (Yoshue el Balbú), accused of being linked to the murder of the young Luis Gustavo Grullón De Aza (Nini), which occurred in front of the Palace of Justice of that city last August.
The measure was dictated by the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of Duarte, which also declared the case complex, considering the seriousness of the events and the number of those involved. Judge Josefina Noemí Díaz ordered that Morel Artiles serve the measure at the Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) San Felipe, in Puerto Plata. You may be interested in: Vehicle with four undocumented Haitians detained in Playa Chiquita, Azua
According to the Public Ministry, the defendant —who served as a court bailiff of the Court of Appeals of the Judicial Department of San Francisco de Macorís— was arrested during a raid last Friday. The investigation is in charge of prosecutor Benedicto Reynoso, while litigating prosecutor Engels Luis Polanco represented the accusing body in the hearing. For the case, preventive prison is also being held for Ricky Alberto Hernández (El Goldo) and Winder Jaime (Disconfianza), who were sent to prison on October 10th. Meanwhile, a fourth involved, Johan Gilberto Cortorreal Polanco (Kiko Peine Largo), will be subjected to a coercive measure next Tuesday, after requesting a postponement to be assisted by his lawyer. The Public Ministry provisionally classified the case as association of wrongdoers and murder, in violation of articles 59, 60, 265, 295, 296, 297, 298 and 304 of the Dominican Penal Code. The death of Grullón De Aza, 23 years old, caused great commotion in the Duarte province, as it occurred in broad daylight in front of the Palace of Justice and was recorded by security cameras.
