Santo Domingo.- The political committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) will resume its analysis tomorrow, Monday, on the content of the ruling of the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE), in which it issues its considerations on the aspirations to presidential candidacies in that political organization.
The meeting of the governing body of the PLD is scheduled for ten in the morning at the Casa Nacional Reinaldo Pared Pérez, the party said in a statement. In a past meeting on the matter, the PLD’s secretary general, Johnny Pujols, said that, regarding the TSE’s decision, the political committee began to learn about the point and decided to listen to the opinions of other leaders of the organization. From the General Secretariat, the call to the members of the PLD’s governing body was confirmed with a good expectation of attendance, added the purple party. Before the start of the meeting, the media representatives are allowed to enter the meeting room to summarize the conclusions and resolutions approved at the end of the meeting. The TSE determined that the PLD could not advance its internal election process regarding the presidential candidacy and halted the organization’s attempts to choose its presidential candidate in January 2026.
