Santo Domingo Este.– Agents of the Specialized Directorate for Attention to Women and Intrafamily Violence (DEAMVI) of the National Police arrested a man this Thursday who was wanted by judicial order for alleged acts of gender-based violence against his ex-partner.
The detainee was identified as Jean Carlos Hernández Santos, alias “Chukito”, 20 years old, who was located and arrested during an intelligence and investigation operation carried out in the Brisa del Este sector, in the Santo Domingo Este municipality.
According to the police report, the arrest was made in compliance with arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0035181, issued on May 1st by the competent judicial authorities of the National District.
The authorities indicated that Hernández Santos was wanted to answer for alleged violations of articles 309-1 and 309-9 of the Dominican Penal Code, related to acts of gender-based and domestic violence against Mrs. Rosmery Pichardo.

According to the file, the victim had filed a formal complaint with the authorities for alleged threats, assaults, and acts of harassment. The case also gained public notoriety after the accusations were disseminated through different digital platforms and media outlets, generating follow-up from the citizenry.

The National Police explained that the location and capture of the accused was possible thanks to the investigative work carried out by members of DEAMVI, who followed up on the case after the issuance of the corresponding judicial order.
The institution reported that the detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes, while the established procedures within the judicial process continue.
