Independence.– The vice president and political coordinator of the Fuerza del Pueblo, Radhamés Jiménez Peña, described the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) Government as a “little government” that, in his view, lives off announcements, offers, and unfulfilled promises, a situation that, he claimed, has generated growing disappointment among Dominicans.
The statements were made during a swearing-in ceremony for hundreds of leaders and supporters from the PRM and other political organizations, who joined the Fuerza del Pueblo in the Independencia province.
Jiménez questioned the most recent announcement made by President Luis Abinader regarding a 20 billion peso investment for the development of Boca Chica, pointing out that this is the second time similar promises have been made for that location without them materializing.

“The first announcement was made in 2024 with the 775 million dollars received from Aerodom, and unfortunately it all remained just promises,” expressed the opposition leader.
Likewise, he maintained that the country is facing an administration characterized by improvisation and a lack of compliance. As he indicated, the resources obtained through the renegotiation of the contract with Aerodom were intended, among other works, for the construction of a bridge that would connect Santo Domingo Este with the National District.

“Today we have neither a bridge nor asphalt, and no one knows where that money was invested,” he stated.
Jiménez also stated that those funds were used for electoral purposes and for expenses that, in his view, do not contribute to national development.
New leaders sworn in
During his tour of the Independencia province, the political leader presided over the swearing-in of hundreds of new members of the Fuerza del Pueblo, an organization led by former president Leonel Fernández.

Among those sworn in are Luis Enríquez Mercedes, Bartolo Peña, current councilman of the Duvergé municipality, Samuel Noboa, Gregory León, Carlos Francisco Terrero, José Niño, Marielena Peguero, Aracelis Matos, Juan Andrés Mella, Amanda Peguero, and Bianni Sosa.
Ramón Matías Marmolejos, Luis Enrique Méndez Pérez, Manuel Osvaldo Sena, Nataly Saray Taveras Noboa, Ángela Pérez Mancebo, Rosmedys Martínez, and Julio César Santana Florentino, among other leaders, were also integrated.
Jiménez Peña was accompanied by members of the Political Directorate of the Fuerza del Pueblo, including Noris Medina, Marco Cross, Franklin Peña, and Emil Vólquez, as well as leaders and supporters of the political organization.
