They hold a ‘Close to You’ day in Ciudad Juan Bosch

Santo Domingo.- The Trust for the Construction of Low-Cost Housing in the Dominican Republic (Fideicomiso VBC-RD) and the General Directorate of Strategic and Special Projects of the Presidency (PROPEEP), held a social services day, where around 300 people in Ciudad Juan Bosch were benefited. After holding a meeting with community leaders, the Ministry of the Presidency identified the need to provide greater support to vulnerable sectors of the housing project, delivering food rations, assistance devices for people with disabilities, and registrations were made for state programs such as the solidarity pension, the SENASA Insurance, the Supérate card and the Primer Empleo program.  “Since the last meeting we held with leaders from Ciudad Juan Bosch, we saw the need to further support unemployed youth, pregnant mothers, and the elderly. That’s why today we developed this day with PROPEEP, bringing real solutions to those who need it most,” expressed Camel Curi Lora, Vice Minister of Investment Projects of the Ministry of the Presidency

Director of PROPEEP’s Cabinet, Marianela de la Cruz, emphasized that this intervention is part of an agenda coordinated with the Ministry of the Presidency and thanked the Trust for being the effective bridge with the community.

“Today we are here thanks to an invitation from the Ministry. We brought several of our programs to address specific needs reported to us by the community. This is the first of many visits we will make to Ciudad Juan Bosch on behalf of our director, Robert Polanco”, stated de la Cruz.

The “Close to You” day is part of a set of social programs implemented by PROPEEP to guarantee inclusion, health, and development in vulnerable communities. Initiatives such as “First You”, with interventions in schools and community centers, and “The Government With You”, which includes street paving, community assemblies, and comprehensive care, are part of this national social welfare strategy.
