Santo Domingo.– The United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Leah Francis Campos, led a ceremonial event at her official residence where, in addition to a blessing of the place, she presented the cultural collection “Art in Embassies”.
The activity brought together prominent figures, including First Lady Raquel Arbaje and Vice President Raquel Peña, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps, government authorities, and figures from the cultural, academic, and business sectors.
The religious ceremony was officiated by Reverend David Soriano, pastor of the Primate Cathedral of America, in a solemn atmosphere that included prayers and the blessing of the space.
During the meeting, the diplomat highlighted the symbolic value of the act and thanked the presence of the guests, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening cultural ties between both nations.
As the central part of the evening, the “Art in Embassies” collection was presented, a selection of works that seeks to promote cultural exchange through art. Among the exhibited pieces are works by Jasper Johns, Peter Max and Marc Lipp, along with other contemporary proposals.

The activity concluded with an interaction space among the attendees, in which cultural diplomacy was highlighted as a bridge to strengthen relations between the United States and the Dominican Republic.
The “Art in Embassies” program, promoted by the U.S. Department of State, has been fostering intercultural dialogue for over six decades through exhibitions in diplomatic missions around the world.
