Venezuela and Dominican Republic will reactivate consular services and air connection

Caracas.– The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Dominican Republic announced that, as a result of the joint work between both governments, it has been decided to reactivate Dominican consular services in Caracas and Venezuelan consular services in Santo Domingo in the coming days.

According to the official statement, the measure seeks to directly assist the communities of both countries residing in foreign territory, facilitating consular procedures and services that had been suspended.

Also, both governments agreed to instruct their respective aeronautical authorities to reactivate the air connection between Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, which will allow the reestablishment of commercial flights between both nations.

The statement was issued this Sunday, marking a significant step in the restoration of diplomatic, consular, and transportation ties between the two countries. It is recalled that the suspension of flights between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela has been in effect since 2021, within the framework of measures adopted for security reasons and aligned with recommendations from international organizations.
