The energy companies AES Dominicana and TotalEnergies Renewables signed a strategic agreement to develop and commercialize renewable energy projects in the Dominican Republic. This agreement will allow TotalEnergies’ renewable division to integrate into the portfolio of AES Dominicana Renewable Energy S.A. (ADRE), with a 50% equity stake. Currently, AES Dominicana Renewable (ADRE) operates three photovoltaic solar parks with a total capacity of 250 megawatts: Bayasol and Santanasol, in the province of Peravia, and Mirasol, in the municipality of Guerra; in addition to the Agua Clara wind farm, in Montecristi. Likewise, two new projects are under construction that will add an additional 140 megawatts. Edwin De los Santos, president of AES Dominicana, expressed: “We are excited to join forces with TotalEnergies, a global company, in this transformative project. Throughout these years, we have incorporated strategic partners who accompany us in the expansion plans, supporting the strengthening of businesses and promoting sustainability in the energy industry, both in the Dominican Republic and in the Caribbean and Central America region”.
