International Newsroom.- Robert de Niro lashed out at a public event in New York against the US president, Donald Trump, whom he called a “coward” and a “piece of shit” and asked Americans for their votes in the midterm elections on November 3 to “take back” the House of Representatives, the Senate, and “the power”.
The ‘Godfather’ actor spoke last night at a ‘Hands off our vote’ event in New York alongside other artists and activists and was blunt against the Republican president.

And in a speech in which he began to get fired up and angry at the Trump Administration, which he called “tremendously stupid,” he told the attendees: “When that coward and piece of shit Donald Trump tries to take away our voice and our power, what do we say? Get your fucking hands off our vote!”
“Empowering people is not just a slogan, it is a foundational principle of our nation, guaranteed by the Constitution. We, the people, exercise our power through voting,” expressed the 83-year-old actor, who urged people to go vote “soon” and to bring “family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances.”
“The Trump administration knows the laws and they are not just crazy and stupid, they are becoming increasingly unpopular, and they know it. Well, okay, they are tremendously stupid. They are stupider than they think, but they know that their stupidity is driving people away,” added De Niro.
In the same event, actor Mark Ruffalo also spoke a little later, who also criticized the U.S. government: “We need to get these bastards out of government,” he asserted, and expressed the importance of the elections and the risk of fraud and theft.
“We all know we’re going to beat them, but we all know they’re going to steal it (the election), they’re going to do everything in their power,” said the ‘Avengers’ actor.

Midterm elections
On November 3rd, Americans will head to the polls in midterm elections that are interpreted as a referendum on the president’s administration, Donald Trump, and which will determine whether Republicans maintain their current majority in Congress.
Trump is trying to mobilize his base by asking them to go out and vote as if he were on the ballot, with the aspiration of repeating the 2024 victory, but his popularity is at an all-time low, weighed down by the unpopular war in Iran and the high cost of living.
According to the polling aggregator RealClearPolitics, Democrats clearly lead in voting intention for Congress, with 50.6%, more than 8 percentage points ahead of the Republicans, who obtain 42.3%.
