“If Haiti is so good, go there”: Santiago Matías responds to Sarodj

Dominican communicator Santiago Matías responded to Haitian-Dominican singer Sarodj Bertin following the Dominican Republic’s football match against Haiti.
“If Haiti is so good, go there,” Matías told Bertin in a social media post, in which he also criticized her comments and told her to promote her music from Haiti.
Matías also made several claims about Haitian migrants in the Dominican Republic, including statements about public services, the environment and crime. He ended his message by offering to send Bertin a private jet to leave the Dominican Republic.
Bertin had previously criticized Matías’ comments, saying that his ideas “speak a lot about him” and describing his mentality as that of a “misanthrope.”
The exchange followed the Dominican Republic-Haiti football match and sparked reactions on social media, extending the discussion beyond the sporting event.
