According to versions reported by Israeli media, the incident allegedly began with a confrontation between crew members. Some reports suggest that the co-pilot may have assaulted the captain, although the exact circumstances have not yet been officially established.
The images show several people intervening in the middle of the incident and trying to keep the situation under control while the aircraft continued its flight.
In a second video shared on social media, one of the people who was inside the plane asks for help and explains that they needed assistance. The man appears with his face covered in blood and states that most of the occupants were safe, although he points out that the pilot had been affected.
“Whoever can hear me, we need help,” the passenger expresses in the recording, while explaining that several travelers intervened to control the situation.
According to the account of the people who appear in the videos, the passengers managed to subdue the alleged aggressor and prevent the situation from escalating. However, the authorities are still investigating exactly what happened inside the aircraft.
The plane, identified as Flydubai flight FZ1073, was carrying 174 passengers, including 27 minors, according to information released after the incident.
The aircraft had taken off from Dubai and was bound for Tel Aviv. Approximately 90 minutes after takeoff, the emergency code 7500, used internationally to alert of a possible aircraft hijacking, was reportedly activated briefly.
After the signal was activated, the plane changed its trajectory and began to descend, heading towards Tabuk airport, in Saudi Arabia.
The maneuver was recorded by flight tracking platforms and showed a significant change in the planned route. The aircraft ended up making an emergency landing in Saudi territory.
Upon arriving at the airport, the affected individuals were attended to by emergency teams. According to information released by Israel’s Channel 14, both the captain and the co-pilot were reportedly taken to a local hospital to receive medical attention.
Investigations remain open and authorities are analyzing different hypotheses regarding the origin of the incident. Among the possibilities mentioned in Israeli media is that one of the pilots may have attempted to take control of the aircraft, although this version has not been officially confirmed.
Versions pointing to a possible kidnapping attempt have also been circulated. This information is under investigation and there is, as of now, no official conclusion confirming that hypothesis.
The people traveling on board were attended to after landing and the authorities coordinated the necessary actions to ensure their safety.
Trapped people
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reported after the landing that the situation was under control and that the necessary measures would be taken to facilitate the safe return of the passengers to Israel.
The authorities continue to collect testimonies from the people who witnessed the incident, in addition to reviewing the recordings made inside the plane and other elements that may help reconstruct what happened.
The case has generated attention due to the images released from inside the aircraft, although the people who appear in them offer only a part of the story and official investigations will have to determine the exact circumstances.
As the investigations progress, the individuals involved remain under the attention of the Saudi authorities, who must determine what caused the confrontation and whether there was any deliberate intention to jeopardize the safety of the flight.
