Eddy Herrera celebrates his second Latin Grammy with a concert at La Casa de Alofoke 2

“Carolina”, one of the most important hits in the discography of the renowned merengue singer, Eddy Herrera released in 1993, kicked off the grand presentation of the Latin Grammy winner at La Casa de Alofoke 2. Santo Domingo.- “El Galán del Merengue”, who was present in the first season of the successful reality show, last September, returned on Wednesday night with a special reason: to celebrate with Santiago Matías and the participants of La Casa de Alofoke his second Latin Grammy for his most recent album “Novato Apostador”. The artist expressed the joy and gratitude he feels for being part of this second season and for celebrating such a significant moment in his career: his second Latin Grammy. “Happy… my second Latin Grammy. It’s a blessing. It’s great to represent Dominican identity with that statuette in my hands, as people saw it, our flag and, above all, Dominican music: powerfully merengue. Merengue and/or bachata, which was our category: Best Tropical Album, and much more to come and celebrate at La Casa de Alofoke, I want to share it with all of you.”

In a conversation with De Último Minuto, prior to his presentation at La Casa de Alofoke, the artist confessed that on the day of the Latin Grammy he had his “sustico” (jitters), as he was competing alongside two merengue legends: Alex Bueno and Milly Quezada.

“I was a little scared because they are also two big ones. If I didn’t win it, they would win it.”

Subsequently, during his presentation, Eddy Herrera performed iconic songs from his career, including: “Pégame tu vicio”, “Demasiado romántica”, “Si yo se lo pido”, “Te amo”, “A dormir juntitos”, “El jardinero” and “Ajena”, while the participants danced and sang along with him. The humorist and impersonator Juan Carlos Pichardo surprised the audience by imitating Eddy Herrera during the presentation, receiving emotional words from the artist on stage. Dani Barranco sang in a duet with Eddy his famous song “A dormir juntitos”, a hit in Venezuelan popular music. Gracie Bon also joined this performance. One of the most impactful moments of the night was when Santiago Matías held in his hands the Grammy recently obtained by Herrera, who also received recognition from Alofoke Media Group for his contributions and outstanding career in the music industry.
