Santiago, R.D. – The National Theater Company will present the acclaimed play “Omar and the Others”, written by the renowned playwright Franklin Domínguez and directed by the outstanding director Fausto Rojas. The performance will take place on Saturday, June 28, at 7:00 p.m., at the Centro de la Cultura de Santiago “Srta. Ercilia Pepín”.
This production brings together a cast of renowned figures from the national theater: Orestes Amador, Cristela Gómez, Maggy Liranzo, Ilya Aponte, Pachy Méndez and Miguel Bucarelli, all actors members of the National Theater Company. The staging will also feature the live musicalization of the pianist Ismael Valdez, who will provide a unique sensory dimension to the development of the play.You may be interested in: Theater Law project
“Omar y los demás” has been widely recognized by specialized critics and the public, obtaining in the year 2021 the Soberano Award for Best Play. That same year, Orestes Amador was awarded the Soberano for Best Actor for his outstanding performance of the main character.
The presentation in Santiago is part of the commitment of the “General Directorate of Fine Arts” and the “Ministry of Culture” with “cultural decentralization”, bringing high-level theater to different provinces of the country and bringing the performing arts closer to new audiences. Admission is free, but access will be by ticket. Tickets will be available at the box office of the Centro de la Cultura, from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Each person may collect a maximum of two tickets.
