At least seven people died, including three children, after a drone, attributed to Ukraine, struck a beach in southern Russia this Monday.
As detailed by the TASS agency, the incident took place in the resort town of Arkhipo-Osipovka, in the Gelendzhik district, Krasnodar region.

Local authorities also report at least forty injured from the attack, 17 of whom have had to be admitted to local hospitals.
The air raid sirens did not go off, so the incursion caught hundreds of families by the sea off guard in the middle of the northern hemisphere summer.

As seen in a video verified by international media outlets such as BBC and El País, the unmanned aerial vehicle crashed on the beach, causing an explosion and a shockwave.
The explosion, which was captured by bathers who happened to be at the scene, caused dozens of people to flee the water to find shelter.
The mayor of Gelendzhik, Alexey Bogodistov, confirmed the installation of an emergency center “to eliminate the consequences of the Ukrainian drone attack.”

In turn, he described the incident “as a cynical and inhumane terrorist attack”.
For her part, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that NATO and the European Union have become “part of the terrorist activity.”
“The sponsors of terrorism are the NATO countries. Not long ago, NATO and the European Union declared zero tolerance for terrorism. Now, they themselves are part of the actions of international terrorism,” he maintained.
EFE reports that the target of the Ukrainian attack was allegedly a rest hotel for specialists and engineers from a Russian military industry company.
At the moment, the Ukrainian Army has not commented on what happened.
