A Ukrainian drone strike killed at least 13 people and injured 75 others in Nizhnekamsk, in Russia’s Tatarstan region, according to local authorities cited by CNN.
The attack struck an area near the Taneco oil refinery, a major facility that Ukrainian forces said was the target. Videos geolocated by CNN showed a large fire and thick columns of smoke near what appeared to be the refinery.
A child was among those killed, while 21 people were hospitalized, according to local authorities. The strike is being described as the deadliest Ukrainian attack inside Russia in more than two years.
