Tehran.- The Speaker of Parliament and chief Iranian negotiator, Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, insisted this Tuesday that Iran will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until the United States meets its conditions, and warned that the Persian country has strengthened itself during the truce.
«Let me make it clear: (we will not reopen) until the commitments made by the United States in the memorandum of understanding are met”, the politician said before the Iranian Parliament in statements reported by state media.

Iran’s conditions for reopening Hormuz
Qalibaf mentioned among the conditions the lifting of the blockade, the release of frozen assets, the lifting of oil sanctions, and the end of military operations on all fronts, that is, against Iran, but also those of Israel against Lebanon.
The former revolutionary guard also warned that the Islamic Republic has reinforced itself militarily during the weeks of truce and is ready to “inflict a greater defeat” on the United States.
Expired truce and military tension
Qalibaf‘s warning comes one day after the expiration of the 60-day deadline agreed upon in the memorandum of understanding signed between Tehran and Washington on June 17 to achieve peace.
