New York. – With an eye on a more global, modern, and connected Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) with international health training networks, Dr. Jorge Asjana David, candidate for the rectory for the period 2026-2030, made an institutional visit to the renowned NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan. During the meeting, Dr. Asjana held key conversations to establish international cooperation alliances, with the aim of strengthening the training, scientific, and clinical processes of UASD students and professionals.

The agenda discussed the development of internship, medical residency, and clinical rotation exchange programs, aimed at providing UASD students with immersion experiences in high-level hospital environments. Dr. Asjana highlighted the receptiveness of Metropolitan Hospital and reaffirmed that internationalization will be a key pillar of his management, if elected rector. “**UASD must be a university with a universal vocation, that establishes bridges with institutions of excellence and opens new doors to its students, regardless of geography**,” he expressed with determination.
