Luis Cruz, manager of Super El Rey del Ahorro in Puebla, Mexico, rescued a young girl who ran toward a busy avenue and was nearly hit by a vehicle.
The incident occurred on 11 Sur Avenue in the Castillotla area and was captured on video. The footage shows Cruz reacting quickly and getting the girl to safety moments before she could be struck by a passing vehicle.
After the video was widely shared, Super El Rey del Ahorro recognized Cruz for his actions and awarded him a 20,000-peso bonus, worth about $1,000.
The company highlighted that rescuing the girl was not part of Cruz’s job responsibilities, but praised his quick reaction in responding to the dangerous situation.
Cruz thanked the company for the recognition and said the gesture strengthened his loyalty to the business.
