Storm causes cancellation of hundreds of flights in New York

New York.– A strong storm that hit the northeastern United States has caused the cancellation of hundreds of flights and numerous delays at the main airports in New York since Monday, affecting thousands of passengers in the peak summer season. According to reports, more than 390 flights were canceled at John F. Kennedy (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), and Newark (EWR) airports, while more than 400 arrivals were also suspended due to adverse weather conditions. In addition to this, more than 500 flights were delayed, according to data from the specialized portal FlightAware.

The intense rains, accompanied by gusts of wind and overcast skies, generated local flooding and forced airport authorities to suspend or reschedule multiple operations. LaGuardia was the most affected airport, closely followed by Newark.
