Caracas.- The death toll from the double earthquake that occurred on June 24 in Venezuela rose to 3,342, while the number of injured increased to 16,740, reported this Sunday the president of the Venezuelan Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez.
The new official toll reflects an increase in fatalities and injuries compared to previous reports, amidst the ongoing rescue, assistance, and damage assessment efforts in the affected areas.

Venezuelan authorities are maintaining emergency operations and humanitarian assistance in the affected areas, while assessments continue to be carried out to determine the full extent of the tragedy.
The Government has not yet offered an update on the number of missing persons or the state of the infrastructure most affected by the seismic movements.
