Trump: “I’ve been great to hispanics, to black people, to practically everyone”

U.S. President Donald Trump praised his administration’s efforts toward minority communities on October 23, expressing confidence that the Republican Party would be rewarded in the upcoming midterm elections.

“I think minority voters have been great to me. I’ve been great to the minority voter,” Trump told reporters on the White House lawn before traveling to Florida for a campaign event.

Asked by a journalist for a message to minority communities, Trump said: “I’ve been great to Hispanics, I’ve been great to Black people, I’ve been great to practically everybody.”

The president also described the Republican Party as having expanded beyond its traditional base, saying it had become a party of working people.

“It’s a different Republican Party. We’re also the party of the worker. It’s a much bigger party than it used to be,” Trump said, comparing the party’s current standing with its position about a decade ago, before he entered the political scene.

Trump previously expressed enthusiasm about the November midterm elections, saying he believed Republicans would perform well.

“I think we’re going to do very well,” he said.
