Surveillance footage released by Saudi Arabia’s Media Ministry shows the moment an explosion struck King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, killing at least 13 people, including an American citizen, and injuring more than 300 others, according to reports.

The footage shows travelers waiting inside the terminal when a powerful blast sends smoke through the building. Passengers run for cover as airport workers take shelter beneath desks and debris falls from the ceiling.

The Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attacks, which also targeted other locations in Saudi Arabia. The group said the strikes were in response to what it described as Saudi aggression in Yemen. Saudi authorities and the Saudi-led coalition have responded by intercepting incoming missiles and warning of a serious response to the attacks.

King Khalid International Airport remained closed on Monday, prompting widespread flight cancellations. Flight-tracking data cited in the report showed at least 540 scheduled arrivals and departures canceled for Monday, with more than 300 additional cancellations expected on Tuesday. U.S. officials warned American travelers to monitor flight disruptions and airspace closures.

The attacks have heightened security concerns across the kingdom, with authorities urging caution as the threat of further strikes remains.
