Freddy Peralta strikes out 10 and leads Brewers' victory towards the postseason

Milwaukee – Dominican Freddy Peralta shone again with his arm and made it clear why he is one of the key pieces of the Milwaukee Brewers heading into the postseason. The right-hander struck out 10 batters in six innings of work during the 9-2 victory over the Angels this Tuesday at American Family Field.

Peralta (17-6) allowed just one run and four hits, regaining his best form after a complicated outing against the Rangers in which he had seen a streak of 30 scoreless innings broken. With this performance, he lowered his ERA to 2.65 in 31 starts, reaffirming his status as the ace of the rotation. The right-hander started dominantly, recording his first six outs via strikeout, en route to his 15th double-digit strikeout start of his career and the first of the current season.

The offensive support came early, led by Christian Yelich, who drove in three runs with a double and a two-run home run. Milwaukee scored in each of the first four innings, securing the victory and solidifying their lead in the National League Central Division. With a playoff ticket already secured, the Brewers are a few wins away from clinching their third consecutive divisional title, and Peralta looks ready to be a protagonist in October.
