Yeison Colomé is the Player of the Week

SANTO DOMINGO.- Yeison Colomé won the Player of the Week award for the LNB Super League, for his heroic performances with the Cañeros del Este between June 2 and June 7.

Colomé led the Cañeros to a 3-0 record last week and sealed two of those victories (against Metros and against Reales) with three-pointers late in the fourth quarter. He averaged 19.7 points, 5.3 assists, 3.6 rebounds, shot 39 percent from the field, and achieved an efficiency rating of 43.

The basketball player received 36 out of 68 votes cast by the journalists who cover the first division circuit, surpassing Luismal Ferreiras, of the Gigantes Basketball Club, who obtained 24 preferences.

Ferreiras contributed to his Indians’ 2-1 record with 19.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 70 percent from the field, and 83 efficiency.

Francis King Fitzgerald (5 votes), from the Giants, Kevin Obanor (2), from the Moca Heroes, and Jordan Gerónimo (1), from the Metros, also received votes.

Colomé joined Andersson García (three times), Luismal Ferreiras, Jordan Hall, Gerard Suero, and Richard Bautista among the players who have achieved the distinction of player of the week in the 2026 season of the LNB Super League.
