ADOTURD and Médico Express sign strategic agreement to integrate sports tourism and health in the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Association of Sports Tourism (ADOTURD) and Médico Express signed an Inter-institutional Cooperation Agreement that establishes a framework for collaboration to integrate sports tourism and health as complementary components of the Dominican Republic’s value proposition for athletes, delegations, sports academies, and visitors. The signing of the agreement took place at the institutional meeting “Dominican Republic: Hub of Sports Tourism”, held at the Embassy Suites Hotel, with the participation of representatives from the tourism, sports, health, finance and investment sectors, and the institutional support of ASONAHORES. The agreement was signed by Yerik Pérez, president of ADOTURD, and Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, executive president of Médico Express, consolidating a shared vision aimed at raising the standards of safety, quality, and experience of sports tourism in the country.

“This agreement responds to the need to structure sports tourism with standards and planning. Integrating a medical ally like Médico Express strengthens the destination’s confidence and the athlete’s experience before, during, and after each event,” said Yerik Shamir Pérez.

For his part, Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso highlighted that:

Among the areas of collaboration are: medical protocols for events, clinical care for athletes and delegations, sports medicine and orthopedics, preventive and cardiovascular check-ups, advanced diagnostic imaging, outpatient surgeries when applicable, visual health and dentistry, as well as the development of medical-sports tourism programs integrated into the sports visitor’s itinerary.
