Santo Domingo.– The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) appointed Dr. Ángela Quezada Guerrero as manager of the UASD-Punta Cana, during a ceremony held in the Council Hall of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences.
The formal delivery of the designation was carried out by the General Director of Human Resources of the UASD, Dr. Raquel Delgado Valdés, who acted on behalf of the rector of the academy, Dr. Jorge Asjana David.
Delgado Valdés urged the new manager to perform her duties with ethics, transparency, responsibility, and adherence to the institutional principles of the Primada de América.
Likewise, he highlighted that UASD-Punta Cana represents a strategic dependency for the current university administration, due to the population, economic, and tourism growth that this area of the Eastern region has experienced.
Upon thanking for the appointment, Quezada Guerrero expressed her gratitude to God and to the university rector for the trust placed in her.

“I thank, first of all, God, who occupies the center of my life, and the rector of the UASD, Dr. Jorge Asjana David, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to the development and management of the University in Punta Cana. I assume this appointment with great responsibility, aware of the importance of consolidating the presence of the academy in the country’s main tourist hub,” he expressed.
The academic pointed out that her administration will be oriented towards the institutional and academic strengthening of UASD-Punta Cana, through the implementation of programs in accordance with the educational, social, and productive needs of the community.
“We have the responsibility to make UASD-Punta Cana a benchmark for academic training for the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, fully assuming our University’s mission to bring knowledge, ethics, and values to the entire country through quality education,” he stated.
The designation is part of the actions promoted by the Rectory to expand access to higher education and strengthen the presence of the UASD in different municipalities and provinces of the country.
University authorities highlighted that the development of these branches contributes to professional training, social mobility, and the economic dynamism of the communities where they have a presence.

Ángela Quezada Guerrero holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, an institution where she has served as a professor in the Administration department since 2006.
He holds a PhD in Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, in Miami, Florida; a Master’s degree in Foreign Trade from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a Master’s degree in Management and Productivity from Universidad APEC. In addition, he has a specialization in Senior Business Management.
In the field of university management, she served as director of the UASD-La Romana Center during the 2022-2026 period and as deputy director of that branch between 2014 and 2018.

He also coordinated the Master’s program in Human Resources Management at the UASD-Higüey Center during the 2016-2018 and 2020-2022 periods.
Since 2016, she has been working as a professor and advisor for master’s theses at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the UASD.
Among his academic contributions is research on the importance of internship programs in the Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, as well as his participation in the reformulation of the curriculum for that degree.
Their complementary training includes studies and certifications in competency-based teaching, artificial intelligence applied to education, social entrepreneurship, scientific research, distance education, leadership, strategy, and sustainable tourism.
Quezada Guerrero has also participated as a speaker at national and international academic conferences and meetings.
In the business sector, she served as National Imports Director for Suplidora de Carnes La Jairo, where she also held commercial roles. Subsequently, she worked as a business executive at Consultores de Datos del Caribe.
Their experience in teaching, research, academic management, and business administration will be put at the service of the development and consolidation of UASD-Punta Cana.
The event was attended by Professor Martín Montilla, Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, along with academic authorities, faculty members, and administrative staff of the institution.
