Army intercepts minivan with 30 undocumented Haitians in the municipality of Esperanza de Valverde

Mao, Valverde. – During an operation carried out in the Peñuela sector of the municipality of Esperanza, Valverde province, thirty (30) Haitian nationals were arrested in an irregular migratory condition.

The arrest was carried out by soldiers of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), after an intelligence operation that ended in pursuit and allowed the interception of a Toyota vehicle, Sienna CE 4×2 model, red color, license plate No. I052349, whose driver abandoned the place at the time of the intervention, leaving the vehicle abandoned.

Upon searching the car, the authorities found undocumented foreigners inside, including twenty-five (25) men, three (03) women, and two (02) minors.

Both the vehicle and the detained Haitian nationals were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the ERD, where the corresponding procedures are carried out in accordance with the Law.
