Panama City.- The Panamanian company Copa Airlines was awarded for the eleventh time as the “most punctual airline in Latin America”, with a punctuality index of 90.75% by the company CIRIUM, a firm specializing in the analysis and collection of data from the airline industry. The punctuality percentage achieved by Copa Airlines is the highest index of all airlines in the American continent and the second best in the world, even surpassing the percentage recorded in the global ranking category, the Panamanian airline reported in a statement. The annual ranking evaluated punctuality, route adherence, and cancellation rates.

In that sense, the report ‘The On-Time Performance (OTP)’ 2025, presented by CIRIUM, highlights that «with an index of 99.8% of completed flights, Copa Airlines is positioned as the airline with the lowest level of cancellations in America and among the best in the world».

Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines, said that “this achievement reflects the commitment of our 9,000 employees to a punctual, safe and reliable operation”.

“Being recognized by CIRIUM as the most punctual airline in Latin America for the eleventh time is an achievement that fills us with pride, not only for what it represents in terms of operational excellence, but also for the value that punctuality and compliance have for our passengers,” said Heilbron.

The CIRIUM table evaluates the performance of major airlines based on the number of seats, flights, and seat availability per kilometer, and categorizes them into global and regional. To do this, it relies on data obtained from more than 2,000 international real-time flight sources covering airlines, airports, global distribution systems, location information and civil aviation authorities. During 2025, Copa Airlines maintained its “regional leadership” in punctuality, operating a reliable network in more than 85 destinations in 32 countries in the Americas, including new routes to San Diego, Salta, Tucumán and Los Cabos. Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, and with 76 years of operation, established in Panama City what is known as the operational center or ‘Hub of the Americas’, backed by Panama’s strategic position on the continent, which it connects with numerous daily flights.
