Downtown commerce rebounds due to Christmas shopping

Santiago.- The commerce of the Historic Center of Santiago shows a clear reactivation in the middle of the Christmas season, driven by the increase in the flow of buyers who go to the stores in search of gifts and traditional products for the Christmas Eve dinner, reported the president of the Association of Companies of the Center of Santiago, José Octavio Reinoso. The business leader indicated that, although official figures on sales volume are not yet available, the movement observed since last weekend reflects a dynamism greater than that of previous weeks. Preliminarily, he maintained that a greater influx of people is perceived in the main commercial arteries of the city center. “You can see a fairly busy center, with a constant reactivation of the flow of customers who come to buy gifts and items typical of the season,” said Reinoso, after highlighting the positive impact that this behavior has for businesses established in the area.

Regarding security, he assured that surveillance has been reinforced in the urban area, which contributes to a peaceful environment for consumers. He pointed out that, so far, no criminal acts have been reported, as a result of the coordinated work with the National Police. Reinoso urged the citizenry to visit the Santiago Center, highlighting the diversity of products available, the competitive prices, and the security conditions that, he affirmed, favor Christmas shopping.
