La Romana. – As part of its commitment to more accessible, humane, and respectful police work regarding human dignity, the Eastern Regional Directorate of the National Police held a workshop on human rights aimed at members of the institution and community leaders.
The training was provided by the president of the Dominican Committee for Human Rights, Virgilio Almánzar, and included the participation of the Eastern regional director, General Jorge Luis Galán Guerrero; the representative of the Dominican Committee for Human Rights in La Romana, Carlos Sánchez; among other speakers and community representatives.

During the meeting, the importance of strengthening police proximity, respect for fundamental rights, and joint work between the National Police and the community was highlighted, promoting peaceful, safe coexistence based on mutual trust.
