Gold prices fluctuated sharply after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the provisional peace agreement between the United States and Iran had ended.
Gold prices fell from $4,135 per ounce to $4,040 per ounce before recovering.
In other precious metals, spot silver fell 2.6% to $58.45 per ounce; platinum lost 4.1% to $1,574.03; and palladium plummeted 4.9% to $1,214.96.
This while the price of a barrel of Brent crude rose 7.2%, to 79.48 dollars.
Brent crude prices rose between 5% and 6% during the session, reaching $78 per barrel. This was the highest level in two weeks and extended the upward trend for the second consecutive day.

The price of 9999 VND gold rings is 300,000 VND/tael lower than that of SJC gold bars, which are sold at 148.2 million VND/tael and bought at 145.2 million VND/tael. The difference between the buying and selling price amounts to 3 million VND/tael.
At Mi Hong jewelry, the selling price of SJC gold bars is 147.3 million VND per tael, and the buying price is 145.5 million VND per tael. The difference between the buying and selling price has narrowed to 1.8 million VND per tael.
Compared to the converted world gold price, the price of SJC gold bars is currently 18.5 million VND/tael higher.
