Among the measures included in the Anti-Crisis Plan that the Government will send to the National Congress is the creation of a new income tax (ISR) bracket for individuals with monthly incomes exceeding RD$400,000.
The proposal establishes a 27% rate for salaries exceeding that amount, as part of a strategy aimed at increasing state revenue and addressing the effects of the international economic crisis.
According to the project presented by the economic authorities, the measure would be part of a set of fiscal reforms that also includes tax amnesty, higher deductions for educational expenses, elimination of advance payments for micro-enterprises, and new actions to combat tax evasion.
The initiative must be known and debated by the National Congress before any eventual approval and implementation.
These, along with other measures, were presented by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Magín Diaz, as part of the plan to guarantee the Government’s fiscal sustainability in the face of the current crisis scenario.
