INCORT receives the Ambassador of Argentina for a guided visit to HGPS as a pioneering center for liver transplantation in the country.
Santo Domingo.- A delegation from Argentina, headed by Ambassador Sandra Windler and Vanina Rinaudo, counselor of the Embassy, made a guided visit to the Hospital General Plaza de la Salud, with the purpose of strengthening the National Pediatric Liver Transplant Program through training programs and international cooperation with institutions such as the Garrahan Hospital and INCUCAI of Argentina.
With this international alliance, HGPS continues to consolidate as a leader in liver transplants in the Dominican Republic, being the only center in the country that performs this type of procedure in both adults and children.
In the visit coordinated by José Juan Castillos Almonte, director of INCORT, he highlighted the importance of the trajectory of this care center to maintain and enhance this type of transplant in the country, emphasizing that its structure and experience will facilitate the training of personnel as part of the international agreement and ensures access for the insured population, both from the contributory and subsidized regimes, to these specialized procedures.

For his part, Dr. Jiomar Figueroa, senior manager of Surgical Management of the HGPS, emphasized that, as an institution governed by a board of trustees and non-profit, the benefits obtained are reinvested in improving services and in the training of transplant professionals, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists and hepatologists.
With this international strategic alliance, it is planned to send national professionals to specialized centers in Argentina to carry out rotations and training in pediatric liver transplants, guaranteeing the continuity and sustainability of the program.
Likewise, the Argentine delegation announced the intention of incorporating technical support in the first transplants, through the participation of professionals from Garrahan, who could accompany and train in situ, ensuring the quality and efficiency of the process.
