Santo Domingo. – The President of the Republic, Luis
Abinader, and his wife, First Lady Raquel Arbaje, sent a heartfelt Christmas Message to the Dominican Nation, highlighting the importance of unity, solidarity, and the fundamental values that guide the country, but also the dangers of ambition and an excessive love of riches.
In an audiovisual, the leader reflected on the real meaning of Christmas, emphasizing that “it is a time to reaffirm the values that we learned in our homes: respect, honesty and humility”.
He also emphasized that Christmas should be “like that simple and silent night on which Jesus was born, without ostentation or grandeur.”

First Lady Raquel Arbaje joined the message, expressing that “I am here not only as his life partner, but as an ally in the cause of serving and positively transforming our nation”.
He called on Dominicans to look at themselves sincerely, to learn, to vindicate, and to reconnect with the best of themselves as human beings and as a country.
The ruler invited Dominicans to share “the love of their families, the embrace of true friends and the faith that sustains us”, and highlighted that “happiness does not come from having, but from loving; not from excess, but from the peace that dwells in the heart”.
The presidential couple’s message concluded with a call for unity and hope, with the prayer that “this Christmas unites us in LOVE, that it renews hope in every Dominican family and that the Child God fills our homes with light, peace and blessings”.
