Santo Domingo. -Sectors linked to the electoral process of the Faculty of Humanities at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) expressed concern regarding the inclusion of a candidate on the runoff ballot, considering that such a decision could contradict the Regulations for the Election of University Authorities.
n” “nIn accordance with article 50, letter c, of the electoral regulations, when no candidate obtains an absolute majority in the first round of voting, the runoff must be held with the participation of “only those two (2) candidates who have obtained the most votes in their favor”.
n” “nVarious voices consulted maintain that this provision has raised questions about the final composition of the ballot for the runoff, especially after the resignation of one of the candidates with the most votes and the public endorsement that he offered to another candidacy.
