Azua.– The Regional Directorate of Education 03, in Azua, held a socialization meeting with representatives of the ATAL program (Let’s All Learn to Read), a strategy based on scientific evidence that seeks to strengthen initial literacy in the Dominican Republic through effective methodologies for teaching reading and writing.

During the day, it was reported that the program, promoted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will be implemented as a pilot plan during the 2026-2027 school year in the 03-01 Educational District of Azua. The initiative includes the use of didactic guides, continuous assessments, and permanent support for teachers, with the purpose of raising student learning levels.

The project is supported by the Ministry of Education (MINERD), the IDB, and Instituto 512, and aims to generate evidence that contributes to the strengthening of educational policies and to replicating successful practices in the country based on the science of reading.
