Teachers from Regional 03 of Azua are recognized for achieving timely literacy

Azua. – The Ministry of Education (MINERD), through Regional 03 of Azua, recognized this Tuesday more than 45 primary school teachers and the educational centers where they teach, for having achieved the timely literacy of their students. The awards ceremony was led by the regional director, Jorge Antonio De los Santos, who presented the recognized teachers and centers with a certificate of merit and an incentive of RD$50,000, in accordance with the criteria established in the corresponding departmental order. The initiative seeks to promote quality learning in the first three grades of primary school, prioritizing skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.

To obtain recognition, the teachers had to achieve that:
  • In first grade, 80% of the students would be literate.
  • In second grade, 90% would know how to read and write.
  • In third grade, 98% would achieve complete literacy.
The ceremony took place in the event hall of Regional 03, with the presence of district directors Elvido Delgado (03-02, Padre Las Casas), José Alberto Herrera (03-04, Baní) and Altemis Arias (03-05, Nizao), as well as directors, technicians and teachers from the five educational districts that make up the regional.
