Santo Domingo.- The Superintendence of Health and Occupational Risks (Sisalril) announced an increase in the coverage of medical care for traffic accidents within the Family Health Insurance, a measure that came into effect on February 1, 2026. According to the information provided by the entity, the new coverage limit amounts to RD$1,393,380, which represents greater economic support for affiliates in the face of this type of eventuality. Likewise, Sisalril informed the Health Risk Administrators (ARS) that the reference salary for the contribution ceiling of the Contributory Regime was set at RD$23,223, an amount that will serve as the basis for calculating contributions to the Family Health Insurance, the Occupational Risk Insurance and the Old Age, Disability and Survivor Insurance. The institution explained that this adjustment ensures that the variable co-payment assumed by affiliates for the services of the Basic Health Plan remains within the limits established by Law 87-01.

As part of the adopted provisions, Sisalril also updated the minimum capital required for the operation of the ARS, establishing it at RD$92,892,000, equivalent to 4,000 minimum wages. The administrators that do not comply with this requirement must adjust their capital within three months, starting from February 1, 2026. The measure was also communicated to the Dominican Institute for Prevention and Protection of Occupational Risks (IDOPPRIL), the General Directorate of Information and Defense of Affiliates (DIDA), and the Health Service Providers (PSS), as part of efforts to strengthen the protection of affiliates and guarantee the solvency of the social security system.
