Spain invites Abinader to participate in the Ibero-American Summit 2026 in Madrid

Santo Domingo. – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, José Manuel Albares, extended a formal invitation to the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, to participate in the XXX Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government. The information was confirmed by the Spanish diplomat himself, who indicated that the invitation was delivered to his Dominican counterpart, Roberto Álvarez, within the framework of bilateral relations between both countries. The international meeting is scheduled to take place on November 4th and 5th, 2026 in the city of Madrid, Madrid, and will bring together leaders from the Ibero-American region to discuss topics of common interest.

The summit will be held under the motto “Ibero-America. Together we build our Community. Together we project it towards the future and towards the world”, focused on strengthening cooperation, sustainable development and the international projection of the bloc. This type of meeting seeks to consolidate political, economic, and social ties between the participating countries, as well as to promote joint initiatives for the benefit of their citizens.
