El Valle, Hato Mayor. – The community of the La Colonia sector, in the agricultural municipality of El Valle, is shocked after a tragic gender violence incident occurred on the afternoon of this Sunday, where a man killed his partner and subsequently took his own life.
The victim was identified as Sheryl Javier Varela, approximately 30 years old. According to preliminary reports from local authorities, Javier Varela died at the crime scene due to multiple gunshot wounds.
The aggressor, identified as Franklin De León, about 34 years old, committed suicide after committing the femicide, shooting himself in the mouth which instantly took his life.
Details of the event So far, the exact circumstances that triggered the fatal outcome are being investigated by the National Police and the Public Ministry. Neighbors of the sector expressed their astonishment at the event, which has stained the province of Hato Mayor with mourning during the weekend.
Preventive Police units, members of the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM), and the corresponding forensic doctor arrived at the scene to remove the bodies and begin the investigations.
