Washington.- A Secret Service agent who was part of the security detail for U.S. Vice President JD Vance has been suspended from his job for allegedly leaking information about his travels to the press, CNN reported on Thursday.
The investigation is being handled by the Secret Service’s internal affairs department, and it is unclear whether the suspect could face administrative action or criminal charges.
The agent in question is being investigated for allegedly being the source of a recent MS Now article about the security team’s unease regarding the supposed high volume of requests for personal trips by the vice president and his family.
That outlet cited Secret Service sources who consider some assignments inappropriate, such as transporting the vice-presidential couple’s young son to a golf lesson in a military helicopter.
