In the eye of the hurricane these days is the National Renewal senator, Camila Flores, who is being investigated for alleged fraud against the treasury following an anonymous complaint accusing her of keeping a portion of her employees’ salaries. This Monday, the parliamentarian accused her ex-husband, Percy Marín, of leaking intimate photos of her of a highly sexual nature with her new partner, which went viral profusely on social media.
The conflict between both parties started a few months ago when, after 17 years of relationship, Marín filed a lawsuit for “fault-based divorce” against Flores, claiming to have been a victim of “abuse of power” after being evicted by the newly elected senator from the house the family shared, escorted by police officers.
Marín, who served as a regional councilor (CORE) for the Valparaíso Region between 2014 and 2024 and failed in his attempt to become a deputy in last year’s parliamentary elections, also maintained in the submitted document that his now ex-wife did not let him see the daughter they have in common for a period of 40 days, which is why he requested compensation bordering on $300 million (USD 327,000).

Such accusations were denied by the parliamentarian, who last May succeeded in having the court decree a prohibition on disclosing any records of the case.

“No one has the right to destroy a woman just out of spite”
Given the situation, following the viralization of the images this Monday, the senator uploaded a video to her X account directly accusing her ex-husband of colluding with other people to disseminate “private photos of mine” obtained illegally.”
“I have reported the facts to the Justice system and I hope they are investigated with the same extreme rigor with which I myself have been investigated,” Flores pointed out, visibly affected, alluding to the investigation for fraud against the treasury that weighs against her.
“It is incredible what heartbreak and a lack of understanding can cause. Not understanding that when one person simply does not want to be with the other and the relationship ends, it does not mean that one should destroy another’s life. A person, whether a man or a woman, is no one’s property and has every right to rebuild their life with whomever they want, as many times as they want,” added the parliamentarian.
“I separated and asked my ex-husband to leave the house; I had no relationship with him. In fact, the Justice system had decreed a restraining order for DV (domestic violence), which he exercised against me and which I presented on that very December 15th, the day he had to be forcibly removed from our common home, because he refused to leave,” she argued.
“What else has to happen for a man to understand that, when a woman does not want to be with him, he (cannot) destroy that person out of revenge or disparage her for not being in a relationship? (…) Out of spite, hatred, and violence, this man seeks to tarnish my image and do me all the harm he can. We cannot tolerate that as a society, neither with me nor with any woman. No one has the right to destroy a woman just out of spite,” the parliamentarian stated.

“Furthermore, in this case, there is a small girl, my daughter, who is also being harmed and exposed (…) It is not possible to accept that this happens in our country; it is not possible that I cannot rebuild my life and that he believes he has the right to destroy it at his whim and with impunity (…). I hope that Justice acts and protects us from these brutal and criminal acts”, she concluded.
