Santo Domingo. – Starting next July 10, the integrated public transport fare system will come into operation, which will allow users to use the Santo Domingo Metro, the Cable Car, and the bus corridors through a single payment of RD$35.
The information was provided by the executive vice president of the Metropolitan Transport Company (EMT), Jhael Isa Taveras, who explained that the measure is part of the consolidation process of the Integrated Transport System (SIT) promoted by the authorities.
With this modality, passengers will be able to travel between different state transport means using a single ticket, which seeks to facilitate urban mobility, reduce travel costs, and improve the travel experience for citizens.
How the integrated fare will work
The new scheme will allow combining trips on the Metro, Cable Car, and bus corridors without the need for additional payments during the journey, provided that transfers are made within the time established by the system.

The authorities have explained that the integrated fare is designed to primarily benefit users who use more than one means of transport to reach their destination, offering a more economical and efficient alternative.
