A man kills his ex-partner, injures his ex-mother-in-law, and commits suicide in Santo Domingo Norte 

Santo Domingo.- A man took the life of his former partner, injured his former mother-in-law and subsequently committed suicide in the Mata Gorda sector, of the Santo Domingo Norte municipality, the National Police reported this Wednesday, which is investigating what happened. The victims are Roselin Fortunato, 24 years old; and Hansel Antonio Solís García, 38, while the injured person was identified as Juana Fortunato Martínez, 46 years old, mother of the deceased young woman.

The event occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the Fortunato family residence, according to a statement from the Presidency. According to the testimony of Fortunato Martínez, Hansel showed up at the house and had a heated argument with his daughter, “motivated by passionate matters”. In the midst of the altercation, he pulled out a firearm that he was carrying illegally and shot his ex-partner. Juana was injured in her left hand when intervening to prevent the tragedy and, immediately afterwards, the aggressor shot himself for suicidal purposes. The bodies were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), while investigations continue under the coordination of the Public Ministry.
