Montecristi. – A group of 30 undocumented Haitian immigrants was detained by a patrol of the Dominican Republic Army in the municipality of Villa Vásquez, Montecristi province.
The military intercepted the undocumented individuals at night when they were in rural areas near the Los Cocos sector of the aforementioned municipality.
According to reports, the group was taken there by a man identified as Jairo Contreras, who was waiting at the location to transport them in a white CRV jeep.You can also read: Army detains group of 29 undocumented immigrants traveling in rural areas
According to the investigations, the coordinations were carried out by Contreras, from the municipality of Navarrete, who is identified as the leader of a structure dedicated to the trafficking of undocumented Haitians.
The 30 foreigners in irregular migratory status, of whom (19) are men, (10) are women, and (01) is a minor, will be handed over to the immigration authorities for the corresponding repatriation process.
