Santiago, DR. – The Santiago Prosecutor’s Office is holding a hearing this Tuesday at 2:00 PM as part of the legal process initiated by Mr. Arnulfo de Jesús Gutiérrez Almonte against the communicator Ángel Ramón De Jesús Martínez Jiménez, popularly known as “El Detective.”
The legal action stems from a complaint filed by Gutiérrez on April 26, 2024, in which he accuses Martínez of committing various crimes, including defamation, public insult, and misuse of digital platforms.You may be interested in: Faride sues Ingrid Jorge and Ángel Martínez
The complaint alleges that these actions constitute violations of articles 367 et seq. of the Dominican Penal Code, as well as laws 53-07 on High Technology Crimes and Offenses and 61-32 on Expression and Dissemination of Thought.According to the plaintiff, the communicator has directed a systematic campaign of defamation and extortion against him through the YouTube channel “Detective Ángel”, content that has also been disseminated on social networks such as Instagram and TikTok.
Ángel Martínez, known for his publications and complaints on digital platforms, has been the subject of multiple complaints for the dissemination of information without evidentiary support.
This is not the first time The Detective has faced legal action for defamation and extortion practices.
